Thank you for speaking truth to power, Scott. This informative post is factual, well written and bracingly cuts through the clouds of toxic obsfucation swirling around.

I'd like to add that Canada Files (Aidan Jonah: Editor-in-Chief) an independent, user financed investigative news service has many files on Freeland's use of Ukraine Nazi "support" to help "get out" the vote, to launder money, etc. She in turn has helped them worm their way up the military services into better pay and better opportunities to misdirect Canadian resources to their mutual benefit. Nazis are about racist ideology, but that doesn't stop them from being crooks at the same time.

I will add the following to what Scott has already said regarding Freeland's culpability when defending her grandfather:

She is well aware of the optics regarding her late dido's complicity in WWII attrocities against "Untermensch". Why else would she go to such great lengths to delegitimize the revelation that her grandfather was a bonafide Nazi and mischaracterize the news as "Russian disinformation"? Just so there is no doubting her mendacity, her response to a journalist's direct question on the issue of her grandfather was,

“I don’t think it’s a secret,” she said coyly. “American officials have publicly said, and even (German chancellor) Angela Merkel has publicly said, that there were efforts on the Russian side to destabilize Western democracies, and I think it shouldn’t come as a surprise if these same efforts were used against Canada.”(Sheldon Kirshner, Times of Israel, Mar 9, 2017, https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/chrystia-freeland-should-come-clean-with-the-truth)

If you want a point-by-point breakdown of why Freeland must be held accountable in this situation, then Davide Mastracci's Aug. 27, 2020 article in the Passage is where you'll find it (https://readpassage.com/chrystia-freeland-must-account-for-her-nazi-collaborator-grandfather). I'm not going to do a disservice to his top shelf journalism by paraphrasing his argument, but I will say it's by far the most well thought-out and researched article on the subject.

Sadly for Canadians, there is an even more worrying angle to this story. One of the originators of the Freeland-Chomiak connection story is Consortium News. Rather than interview Consortium's editor, Joe Lauria, Canadian media (Global News included) who disagree with Consortium's angle or who play the role of dutiful sycophant to the Liberal Party have defamed Consortium News by repeating the lie that this is a Russian disinformation operation and those involved in reporting it are nothing less than Kremlin stooge's doing Vladimir Putin's bidding. For a nation that purports to be a democracy (I would disagree), this should be an alarming devolution of one of democracy's most important pillars: A free and objective press. When our major media organizations seek to brow beat minor ones into silence by falsely accusing them of being traitors, we are then a democracy in name only.

"I should have shouted it out loud at the top of my voice." Amen! So should we all! Excellent piece.

It’s actually worse than you think! Chrystia Freeland assisted her uncle, John-Paul Himka, do the research on her grandfather’s Nazi collaborator past after they discovered some papers following grandfather’s death!! Chrystia is actually credited in her uncle’s research paper on her grandfather’s Nazi past!!

So she is intimately familiar with subject, yet pretended as if her grandfather is some liberal hero & tweeted (later deleted):

“They were forever grateful to Canada for giving them refuge and they worked hard to bring freedom and democracy to Ukraine,”

Also, look at what her own uncle had to say about “Slava Ukraini”, yet she keeps repeating it!

“I will never answer [that slogan]. I’ve seen so many terrible things signed with that but I study the Holocaust,”

Christian Freeland is the most dangerous person in Canada. As Deputy Prime Minister and purported candidate as the political head of NATO she demonstrates that a few well placed zealots have the ability to change the future course of nations.

At the present she needs to be registered as an agent of the Ukraine government. In the future she needs to be shipped off to the Russian criminal courts for fomenting a revolution in Ukraine.

She was one of the first people to have sanctions put against her by the Russian government. After perestroika and glasnost

What concerns me is the vast number of people who support this Nazisim---while running around saying that anyone who disagrees is a Nazi. Maybe that’s what they call gaslighting. But it’s frustrating

Thank you Scott for dropping the truth bombs and opening the eyes to thousands of people like me, you’re a true warrior.

Justin Trudeau is racist himself, remember the blackfaces? so I guess it makes sense he picks Chrystia Freeland to be his finance minister. I used to have lots of respect for Canada. What a shame!

Great Plast primer, thanks Scott.

Meanwhile another $400 million in military aid (supposedly) for Ukraine. Maybe they’ll actually use these funds since the elections here are done, as is FTX in our own banana rama republic.

Bravo very accurate, well researched and written. She is also behind providing funding through Canadian tax payers dollars to train these monsters. They even sent Canadian troops to train the Azov battalion and other Nazi groups. Her hands are so deep and dirty in all of this. Just in case you need more proof https://coat.ncf.ca/research/Chomiak-Freeland/C-F_10.htm

Thank you, Scott. You are one of the few prominent voices in the U.S. who is calling this out for what it is: Banderites, including Crystia Freeland, trying to whitewash their history and ties with Nazi ideology. My Jewish grandmother fled Lvov, Galicia as a young woman in 1913 and came to the U.S. through Ellis Island. If she hadn't, I have no doubt that she would have been exterminated, as were tens of thousands of Jews, Poles, Russians, and non-Banderite Ukrainians by the OUN-B, the SS Waffen Galicia division, and the Einsatzgruppen in the 1940s. For those who have the stomach to watch it, I recommend the film, "The Hatred" (2016), also titled "Volhynia," a Polish film -- banned in Ukraine -- depicting the massacre in Volhynia (which is part of Western Ukraine), to get a better understanding of the history of these animosities involving the Poles, Ukrainians, Germans, Jews, and Russians.

It sickens me to see not only this whitewashing of history, but also to see members of Congress in Washington, D.C. and liberal organizations in New York City hosting avowed Nazis, who bear Nazi insignia on their bodies and glorify the memory of Stepan Bandera. I wrote to my senator, Rick Scott, to let him know what I thought about that. But a lot of good that will do, right? Worst of all was when Nancy Pelosi shouted "Slava Ukraini" (akin to shouting "Seig Heil" or "Heil Hitler") to a joint session of Congress. That is when I knew we were in deep, deep trouble.

Certain segments of the population in the U.S. have long had sympathies towards Nazis and fascism (see, e.g., the short documentary, "A Night at the Garden," and documentation of Hitler's admiration for U.S. eugenicists and antisemites such as Henry Ford), and now the U.S. is in full-blown collaboration with actual neo-Nazis in Ukraine. Worse yet, our tax dollars are funding this. In my opinion, if you collaborate with Nazis, then you are a Nazi. This is true for Jews as well, such as Voldymyr Zelinsky and Igor Kolomoisky. As a person of Jewish heritage and the daughter of a veteran who fought in World War II against fascism, I consider Zelinsky and his ilk traitors to the memory of their ancestors. I had always wondered what I would have done had I lived in Nazi Germany and hoped and believed that I would have fought this evil ideology rather than going along. Never did I think it would happen here. But as the book says, "It Can Happen Here." And it is happening.

Thank you for such an informative article. I wasn't certain how second generation persons of Ukrainian heritage became such Bandera fans, but the history of the Plast organization and Freeland's association with it answered my questions.

Scott, Thank you so much for such an in-depth response to the "doubting Thomas" commenter. I try to watch and listen to all your interviews and podcasts because you are well-researched speaker. I have never learned so much about Russian history! In your "spare time" would you mind jotting down a few accurate Russian history books, I'd like to learn more! Thank you again for all that you are doing to help people understand all of the factors of the Russian SMO in Ukraine. You do so without complaint even though you are sacrificing time away from your family and your personal time!
